Pastor Josh Update

unnamed (20)

This past Saturday, our church gathered at the new church building to have a prayer meeting. Although we don't yet own the building (we're hoping to close on the property in a few weeks), we wanted to make sure we are proceeding in a prayerful manner from the very beginning of this significant undertaking. In fact, we as a church have designated the entire month of November as a month of prayer and fasting.

We believe Psalm 127:1 is true when it states, "Unless the LORD builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain." Therefore, we're seeking God's guidance and blessing as we seek to purchase and then renovate this building. If you would like to join us in our prayers, here is the downloadable and printable prayer calendar that I've already distributed to our congregation. It suggests a specific prayer for each day of the month as well as a Bible verse to go along with that prayer.

In addition, we're praising God for a well-attended Membership Information Class. Despite the difficulties of ministry in the midst of this pandemic, God has graciously brought along eight people who have an interest in church membership and have signed up for the class. The class meets weekly for four weeks. Please pray that God would be at work in those who are participating.

Finally, please pray for our Tuesday play group. This isn't a churchwide initiative but rather just something small that Becky and I are doing at our house. Each Tuesday for the past 4-5 weeks, we've been hosting some non-Christian friends at our home for the group, aimed at ages 6 and under. Since so many children's activities have been cancelled due to the virus, we've found that these parents are very eager for their children to be able to get out of the house and play together with other children. Please pray that God would bless our efforts and provide opportunities for us to share the gospel with these families, perhaps by inviting them to an Evangelistic Bible Study in the future.

As always, we cannot thank you enough for your prayers and support. It is so encouraging to know that you are standing behind us in the ways that you are.

Serving Him,
Josh & Becky Tancordo
