Welcome to Mountain City Church

Blue Bar skinny

At Mountain City Church, we desire to be a community that worships God and shares the message of His grace with everyone. We are a family of doubters, seekers, and followers—people learning together what it means to know and worship Jesus Christ. No matter your church background or beliefs, you are welcome here.

Each Sunday, our gathering is shaped by three core aims:

1. Hearing from God

We listen to God through His Word. That happens as we preach the Word, pray the Word, sing the Word, read the Word, and see the Word displayed through the Lord’s Supper and Baptism.

2. Building One Another Up

We believe ministry happens in the pews as much as it does on the platform. We aim to encourage, support, and strengthen one another as we grow together in Christ.

3. Responding to God

We respond to what God is doing through our singing, our weekly celebration of the Lord’s Supper, and by leaving the building ready to live on mission for His glory.

We understand that visiting a church for the first time can feel intimidating. Even if you’ve been part of a church for years, stepping into a new environment with new people can feel unfamiliar.

Below, you’ll find information to help make your first visit as comfortable and welcoming as possible.

FAMILIES & CHILDREN

We provide a caring, safe nursery for little ones 0-24 months, and enriching kids' classes for children 2 years to 5th grade. For more information about our Children’s Ministries, click here.

Youth Group students (6th-12th grades) participate in our Sunday morning service, and have a special time Sundays at 6pm in the Fellowship Hall. For more information about our Student Ministry click here.

PRAYER

There will be a time at the beginning of our gathering where we are led to pray together as a faith family.  We would also be honored to pray for you and your loved ones personally. If you’d like for us to pray for you, please feel free to talk with one of our pastors following the service and/or fill out a prayer request card that you can find in the back of our pews and place it in one of our offering boxes at either entrance to the place of our worship gathering.

GIVING

We take an offering each Sunday where our members and regular attenders will give a tithe of their income to support our efforts to fulfill God’s mission in our community and around the world. We do this as an offering to God, thanking Him for what He has blessed us with in our lives. Learn more here.

As our guest, please do not feel obligated to contribute anything financially. All we’d like from you is your contact information so we can contact you and let you know how happy we are to have you with us this week. You can give us your contact information on a card in the back of each pew and hand it to one of our welcome team members to receive a gift we'd like to give you following the service.

MUSIC

Our music is a mix of songs, both old and new played by a full band with a more modern style. Some songs you might recognize. Others may be less familiar. Hopefully, you'll get a glimpse of God and the gospel of His grace in all of them. Get familiar with some of our favorite songs here.

MESSAGE

Every week someone will stand before us and preach the Word of God. This is the center of our Sunday morning worship gathering. This is where we are inspired and transformed by God’s self-revelation (the Bible) as it is proclaimed to us through the lens of the gospel or good news about Jesus. This portion of our gathering usually lasts from 30-45 minutes. Listen to past sermons here.

Each Sunday we also celebrate the Lord’s Supper in response to God speaking to us through His Word.  This is something we do that signifies our unity with Christ and we encourage all followers of Jesus to participate in this portion of our services with us but don’t feel obligated.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Dress in whatever clothes you feel are appropriate. Most of our congregation dresses comfortably, and so should you. There is no dress code. Come as you are.
