On April 13, 1868,
a group of Welsh settlers who were working in the local mines around Frostburg decided to start this church. Reverend Lewis Llewellyn was their first pastor whose vision was to see people’s lives changed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Almost 150 years later, we’re still pursuing that same vision.
In August 2009, we called Thomas Winborn to be our lead pastor, in hopes that God would use him to help us once again become a gospel-centered and mission-driven church —
making disciples who make disciples for the glory of God.
God did just that, and we now believe in and work toward seeing everything through the lens of the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel changes everything, and it has certainly changed us.
By the time the Lord called Thomas to leave Frostburg to pastor a church in his hometown, we found that the Lord had already provided us with a new lead pastor. Our community pastor of several years, Joe Saweikis, became our lead pastor in October 2018. In 2022 the church called one of its members, Marty Jellison, to be an associate pastor to continue to serve the needs of the body. Joe, Marty and elders Sam Lepley and Tim Warner, continue to lead this church toward a vision of Christ-centered community.
We hope you will choose to gather with us soon so we can experience the power of God together as He changes our lives for His glory and shapes us into the people we were created to be. Come join us as our story continues to develop. It’s an amazing, ongoing story, and
