Pastor Josh & Beckey Update

unnamed (17)

This past month, we've been very encouraged not only that we've had the opportunity to continue our Sunday gatherings but also that we welcomed five new people into membership at our church. Originally, we had planned to receive these new members on March 15, but God had other plans :)  Nonetheless, it was such a joy to be reminded of how God has been at work through us. Three of the five are new converts whom we baptized within the past year.

Like many places, our COVID case count numbers have been rising dramatically in Pittsburgh to such an extent that the governing authorities have issued a mandate limiting public gatherings to 25 people. However, they have included a religious exemption. After much prayer and consideration, we have finally decided to take them up on this exemption and have therefore not been limiting our attendance. We've seen around 40-45 in attendance the past few weeks.

We've also seen one of our Evangelistic Bible Studies start back up this past week, meeting for the first time since March. It consisted of five Christians and three non-Christians. Please pray that God would use this study for his glory and that Liz, Lauren, and Shawn would be saved.

During these times, I'm reminded of Paul's words in 2 Timothy 2:9. He first describes himself as "bound with chains as a criminal" (since he wrote the letter from a jail cell). However, he then exults, "But the word of God is not bound!" Praise God that even though we might have limitations on our ability to evangelize right now, the word of God is not bound! God is just as mighty to save as he's ever been!

As always, thank you for your prayers and diligence at staying updated. The fact that you're reading this email is a testimony to your care for us, and for that we're deeply grateful.

Serving Him,
Josh & Becky Tancordo
