Pastor Josh Update

unnamed (11)

This past month, we had the privilege of baptizing three people: Heather Petchel (pictured above), Mike Petchel, and Cassie Bernhart. You can read their testimonies for yourself herehere, and here. What a joy to see God's work in these three individuals! It is truly evident from their lives that God has indeed brought them from darkness to light (Acts 26:18).

In addition, this has been a very eventful month for our church in other ways as well. For the past several weeks, we have been 100% virtual. All of our Sunday worship gatherings, Community Groups, and even my discipleship meetings with people have been conducted online. However, we know that God is faithful and is accomplishing his good purposes through all of this. I'm so glad we serve an infinitely good and wise God who "works all things according to the counsel of his will" (Ephesians 1:11).

My prayer during this season has been twofold. First, I've been praying for spiritual awakening among the lost. God often uses shakeups such as this to get people out of their comfort zones and reveal their weakness, fragility, and need for him. I'm praying that a great harvest of souls would come through this pandemic.

Second, I've been praying for spiritual renewal among those who are already Christians. As many people have more time on their hands (either from not working or from reduced activities around town), I'm praying that they would be good stewards of the extra time they've been given and use that time to pursue a deeper relationship with God like never before.

Would you join us in praying for these things—both for our church and your own?

Serving Him,
Josh & Becky Tancordo
