In all likelihood, our church is in a situation very similar to yours right now—not able to gather and feeling quite limited in our opportunities for ministry.

Yet we're not without hope, because we understand that our God transcends our circumstances. As he says in Isaiah 46:9-10: "I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose.'" We serve a mighty God who will accomplish every single purpose he has for this season!

In his grace, God has given us several opportunities for ministry this past month, including distributing backpacks (such as the ones pictured above) on a regular basis to needy families in the community.

In addition, we've been broadcasting my sermons over Facebook each Sunday morning and have had a number of people we've been trying to reach out to for a long time (but who haven't yet attended our church) tune in for these broadcasts. This has led to some very good interactions. Please pray that God would open doors for the gospel and draw people to himself in the midst of this season.

We've been conducting our small groups and other discipleship meetings over video conferencing software. We've also started a book study on A Praying Life by Paul Miller. We're challenging our people to use their extra time at home in order to grow deeper in their prayer life and hope this book study is helpful for them in that endeavor.

And finally, our biggest concern right now is our meeting space. We're not sure when we'll be allowed to gather for worship again, but the school in which we meet has already told us that their facilities won't be available again until at least July, possibly much later. A new superintendent is coming in, which makes things even more uncertain. Therefore, we've had no choice but to search for alternate facilities, at least temporarily. We're trying to find a church that will allow us to use their building for a 9:00 am worship service. If we can't find one, we'll have to worship on Sunday evenings for a season until the school lets us back in. Please pray that God would provide the space we need.

As always, thank you so much for faithfully lifting us up in prayer! Seasons like this remind us of how dependent we are on God, so we are all the more grateful for your prayers!

Serving Him,
